From: webmaster@bluffparktroop21.org
I will be posting many of the email to a new Troop 21
Blog Site. The address is www.bluffparktroop21.blogspot.com
or you can just click on the link on our main website under useful link.
Primarily I will still be doing most of the posting,
however, any authorized users can also post. In order to post, I have
to send you an invitation (with your emal address). I can add and drop
any users any time. I am still the administrator of the site and I can
delete any posting that I find inappropriate.
Please make sure NOT to post any youth's' full name only use first name
initial and last name (if you have to).
This blog posting is a much easier site for me to post any time any
where and does not require any ftp or special programs.
Since I have added Mr. Strunk as a valid user, he can post it any time
any where too.
Let me know what you think of the new site.

For the Silver Comet ride you'll want to insure your bike is in good
shape before the trip (minor adjustments can be done the Thursday
before we leave but you don't want to wait until then to check it out,
we won't be able to replace worn out parts for example) - here are some
bike inspection/repair web resources - local bike shops (bikeline hwy
150, cahaba cycles pelham, bob's) are also a good resource to get your
bike checked over. Helmets need to fit properly and are mandatory.
Since this is a paved ride and not a trail, you'll want the tires
inflated more firmly rather than soft, this will lessen the rolling
resistance and make the pedaling a little easier. You'll also want to
carry some water, either with bottles on the frames, a water pack or
'camelback' (inexpensive brands of these are sometimes available at
costco, sams, academy, etc), or a fanny pack/backpack to carry water
in. Bring sunscreen and avoid cotton clothing/underwear if you can - it
tends to get wet, stay wet, and chafe!! Nylon or other quickdrying
fabrics will be more comfortable for a day of pedaling. If they have
shoes with stiffer soles, they may find those more comfortable to pedal
with over the day versus a very soft sole sneaker (the stiffer sole
will distribute contact with the pedal across the foot, not just on the
ball of the foot).
